I will be shopping for a used one. I use bottled water because our tap water makes the coffee taste gross. I finally just gave up and I use a plastic cup to fill the reservoir with water instead of the carafe. I am actually looking to buy one for my office but I was surprised to see that the retail price is almost double what I paid for mine. I've had this product for two years now and it still brews a great cup off coffee. I agree with the other reviewers about the spillage. When I pour my coffee, I pour it slowly and keep a paper towel handy.
or excess capacity of other coffee makers. This product has done just what I wanted it to, without the frills (do we really need a clock on everything). I do wish that on/off switch was easier to operate, but that's my only criticism of this product. Usually smaller, basic products are made/designed more cheaply. That's not the case here. I haven't had the problem with spilling water/coffee that others have - perhaps Cuisinart redesigned the lid.
Nice appearance, works fairly rapidly, and easy to clean up afterwords. I use both the gold filter and a paper filter -- great coffee.
Someday, whimsy will present a new machine to me. One learns the first time not to stand directly in front when attempting to lift lid5. Difficult to fill cup with coffee without burning hand with escaping steam from carafe.4. Carafe lid is sometimes difficult to snap into placeI only keep it because it is small and I'm the only coffee drinker at home. Good cup of coffeeCons:1.
Also, I am too lazy to return it. If you lift the reservoir lid (which also holds the hot water dispenser) at the end of the cycle, water that had formed on the underside of the lid will spill back onto the boiling element and shoot steam and drops of boiling water on you hands and at your face. Difficult to fill reservoir without spilling2. The cons far outweigh the pros of this little machine.Pros:1. Difficult to fill cup with coffee without spilling (carafe lid leaks)3.
Power button cannot be turned-on with one hand6.
This is a perfect coffee maker if you have limited counter space and low cabinets. This is the only machine I have found to fit on our countertop without having to be moved daily.you'll love this compact.Cuisinart has products that are funtional & affordable and withstand the test of time.enjoy your Java.
